A guitarist from Milan, I trained at Music Time before continuing my studies with Massimo Minardi. In 1998 I entered the Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano, where I studied with Giovanni Monteforte and Riccardo Bianchi, graduating in 2003. From 2001 to 2008 I was a member of the Guitar Ensemble led by Franco Cerri, alongside Alessandro Usai, Francesco Moglia and Marco Naclerio. The experience encompassed concerts, festivals and recordings: Ieri & Oggi and Antologia della chitarra jazz in Italia, Vol. 2. Since 2011 I have collaborated with Tonino Carotone. Performing has taken me across Italy and Europe, with over 500 concerts and repertoire combining jazz with blues, rock, pop and song. My contribution to Etiliko Romantiko joins the recordings released under my own name with the Mario Pelagatti 4tet. I furthered my training through workshops with Frank Gambale, Jim Hall, Buddy DeFranco and Dave Liebman. I attended Umbria Jazz Winter in 2003 and Siena Jazz in 2005, including a masterclass with Enrico Rava. I have taught since 2000, working in more than ten music institutions, including Scuola Testi, Musikando, Res Musica, Il Pentagramma, La Nuova Musica and Agoal Banca Intesa Sanpaolo. I also teach at the Rudolf Steiner school in Milan. At Nuova Musica I coordinated ensemble courses from 2007 to 2010. I am an FSE-certified trainer in communication and music education, and have led workshops, labs and camps in Italy and Switzerland. I am president of Obiettivo Musica, with 13 years as director. Concerts, study and teaching remain parts of the same work on the instrument.
